Hi!
I found your event online and it looks like a Blast! I am from Cincinnati and would like to fly up to spend the day and enjoy the festivities. will the runway be open for individuals looking to fly in for the day?
Author
The runway will be open Friday & Saturday until 5pm – so if you wish to fly up, please plan to arrive before then. After the festivities, the runway will re-open at 11:59pm for your return flight.
I’m interested in volunteering for this event. How do I do this?

What time will you open on the 11th?
Author
Gates will open at 5pm on Thursday the 11th – don’t forget you’ll need your Bret Michaels ticket for admission. See you there!
What if we didn’t want to see Bret Michaels? And only the balloons?
Author
Good day to you! Thursday requires you to have a Bret Michaels ticket for admission. So if you don’t want to see the concert, I would advise you to come to fest on Friday or Saturday. Both of those days are general admission. See you there!
Who will the entertainment be the 12th and 13th?
Author
Thursday night we have The Reagonomics at 5:30, followed by Bret Michaels at 8pm. (Bret Michaels ticket is required for admission to the grounds Thursday โ get yours at Ticketfly.com). Friday night at 5:30 is Jacked Up, followed by Cassadee Pope (tickets at Eventbrite.com). Saturday there are three actsโฆ 3pm starts off with Blu Kuda, followed by Chapel Hill at 5:30 and Bon Journey at 8pm. See you there!
What is the entertainment for Friday night????? Night Ranger was OUTSTANDING last year so I was hopeful someone else was playing that night as well. All I see is Bret Michaels for Thursday night ๐

How far do the balloons travel for rides? Or are they tethered to ropes and come down?
Author
Hi there! For rides, you’re generally in the air for around an hour or so. Distance traveled really depends on the balloon and on weather conditions. There are also tethered rides available. Thanks for asking!
How many balloons are going to be there?
Author
We are hoping to have a total of 30-35. Balloonists are still signing up. See you there!
How much is a one day admission; excluding Thursday?
Author
Hi there! Admission is $10, and covers you for all day Friday & Saturday. You’ll receive a wristband upon entry that will let you come and go as you please all day both of those days. Thursday requires a Bret Michaels ticket for admission. See you there!
Hello. i found your event online and my family and I are very interested in coming. I was wondering if you had a list of hotels in the area that we might stay at. I looked on your website but I couldn’t find anything.
Author
Click on the below to go to the hotel websites:
Hampton Inn Marysville
Holiday Inn Express & Suites Marysville
Comfort Inn Marysville
Super 8 Marysville
All of the above hotels are just about 2 miles from the event site. See you there!
So the $20 for Thursday night gets you in AND the concert but those wristbands are not good for Friday and Saturday as well?
Author
Hi there! Thanks for asking! If you attend the concert on Thursday, you will get a wristband that night. As long as you keep it on your wrist, you can also come and go as you please on Friday and Saturday. ๐
Regarding the Friday and Saturday schedule. What is Fast Traxx? Also, will B-25 rides be available and what would the costs be? Thank you.
Author
Hi Tom, thank you for your inquiries: B-25 rides are available – they are 15 minute rides for $85 per person (no age limit) You can email aobf@marysvillejt.com for additional information. The Fast Traxx is offering sky jump rides which are tandem jumps for $245 per person Only 6 rides per day! You can download the sky jump waiver form from our website or Email aobf@marysvillejt.com for additional information.

Is there going to be a meet n greet with Bret Michaels Thursday? Any vip tickets?
Author
Hi Denise,
Thanks so much for your inquiry. Unfortunately all our Meet & Greet and VIP Tickets have sold out. Hope to see you at the ‘Fest!
Hello. I just saw your in the AAA magazine and decided to go to your website to check your event out. I’m interested in if the balloons you advertise are anchored all day in one spot?
I don’t want to get them excited about it and then the balloons not be there because it is the wrong time of day.
This would be a new adventure for our family, which we are always looking for.
Thanks you for your assistance.
Author
Hi Ton – we appreciate your interest in our event! The balloons are not tethered in one spot during the event – they have launch times and can be seen flying around throughout the day and return to do the “balloon glow” in the evenings.
I hope you and your family come and have a great time with us this year!
I have never been before. are the 2 concerts in the same place each day? or are they at different locations? I would really like to see the Reaganomics but don’t want to see Brett Michaels. Do you have to buy tickets specifically for the concert?
Author
Hi Denise! We have different musical guests for each day of the balloon fest. The Bret Michaels concert with Reaganomics is on Thursday, August 11th and admission for that day – which includes the concert – is $20 in advance or $30 at the Gate. The Friday and Saturday concerts are included with the $10 weekend pass. Here is our musical line-up for the weekend:
THURSDAY, AUGUST 11
5:30pm – The Reaganomics
8:00pm – BRET MICHAELS
FRIDAY, AUGUST 12
5:30pm – Jacked Up
8:00pm – CASSADEE POPE
SATURDAY, AUGUST 13
3:00pm – Blu Kuda
5:30pm – Chapel Hill
8:00pm – Bon Journey
Hope that helps!!!
Are there things to do for smaller children? Any rides or activities?
Author
Hi Jessica – We have lots of fun activities planned for the kids! If your kids like bounce houses and slides, Kidz City admission is $10 – all you can jump! There will be face painting and visits from the Ninja Turtles, Batman and Star Wars characters. And don’t forget how fascinated kids are by the balloons themselves – there will be so many different shapes and colors this year and getting to see them close up can be very exciting. Kids love the balloon fest – we hope to see you there!
When will the fun characters be on site??
Author
The Star Wars characters set their own schedule, but we will for sure have some fun characters on site after noon on Saturday!
If we have preferred seats for Bret Michaels do we need to bring our lawn chairs? If we do and it’s a general admission to that area, do we have to stay in our seats to save our spot?
Author
Hi Vicki! Congratulations on getting ahold of the preferred seats before they were sold out. Yes, you do want to bring your own chairs – and we can’t guarantee that no one would move them if you left, but it hasn’t been a problem in the past. We hope you enjoy the festival and the concert!!!
The United Way of Union County is still recruiting volunteers to help with this UPLIFTING event! Volunteers will receive a free meal ticket, t-shirt and LIVE UNITED sunglasses. Please use the link below to sign up for this fun-filled experience! http://getconnected.unitedwayofunioncounty.org/aem/general/event/?doc_id=2620
Do the balloon ride tickets need to be bought in advance or can they be purchased on the day? And is the price per person? And lastly, can you pick which balloon you ride in?
Thanks,
Author
Hi De Andree – ride tickets must be bought in advance, in fact they often sell out so if you want to go for a ride, buy them soon!!!
Can u bring coolers with drinks in Thursday
Author
No coolers are allowed, but there are plenty of drink vendors on hand to get you what you need!
Will there be beer and wine available?
Author
Hi Bill, there will be beer and wine coolers available.
What is the policy regarding photography of the events/balloons?
Author
Pretty much everyone who comes brings their camera. Lots of great photo ops!
Hi
My daughter and I have booked balloon rides for Friday evening. anything you can tell me regarding restrictions or suggestions on what to wear or not wear or bring along?
Thanks
Author
Hi Sheila – what a fun idea for a mom & daughter to do this together! We recommend wearing comfortable shoes, light clothing – you will be next to a fire and it is HOT! Be sure to bring your camera and enjoy your ride!!!
Last year, I brought my sons to this festival on a Saturday night. I live about 40 minutes away and it took me 3 hours to get there and park! The last 2.5 hours was spent trying to drive a distance that should take 5-10 minutes! Is something being done this year to speed things up?
Author
Hi Karen, sorry for the frustration you experienced last year – as we grow we are always working to find ways to get people in and out quicker! This year we will have a second entrance available for Friday and Saturday and we are trying to get the word out to bring exact change for your $5 parking which will speed things up quite a bit!
Hi:) we have friends coming to cheer us on. Where exactly will the finish line be ?
Author
The finish line will be next to Partner’s Park at 6th and Main. Good luck & have fun!!!
I was wondering if golf carts are permitted for those who can’t get around very well?
Author
Courtney – sorry, no golf carts. But, all areas are wheel chair accessible.
What is the balloon glow??
Author
The Balloon Glow is in the evening after dark and the balloons tether to the ground and light up!
Where is this exact location? There is no mention of it on this webpage…
Author
The All Ohio Balloon Fest is held every year at the Union County Airport in beautiful Marysville Ohio at: 760 Clymer Road, Marysville, OH 43040
Are there still balloon ride tickets available for friday night?
Author
Hi Sharon – there are still balloon rides available! You can purchase them on the “Rides” tab on this web site or call: 937-243-5833. Do hurry because they sometimes sell out before the day of the event!
What is the exact address that should be used for location?

I was thinking of coming to your event with my motorhome. Do you have an area where I could park and stay on Fri night? If so, please let me know the details.
Thanks,
Dan
Author
Hi Dan – unfortunately, at this time you cannot park overnight at the airport. There are several nice campgrounds nearby such as The Raymond House in Raymond, Ohio – there is also a Walmart in Marysville that offers free overnight parking for RV’s.
I have conformation email for Balloon Ride, but where do I pick up the ticket. Thanks
Author
Pick up your ticket at the front gate at 5pm! Aim early because traffic will be heavy and we want to make sure you get your ride.
If it is raining and thunderstorms in the forcast will the balloons still set up?
Author
Great question Sherri – especially in light of the current forecast in which the possibility of an occasional storm is still “up in the air” (pun intendedโฆ). The Ballonmeister and the safety officer will make the call if there is any weather that could be dangerous to the balloonists or spectators, but the event will go on rain or shine. Keep in mind that there is plenty to do in case of a weather-related delay such as helicopter rides, the bands, the great food and fun!
Are children under 12 free on Thursday night as well?
Author
Nope – 12 and under are free on Friday & Saturday only.
Balloon Launch on friday night is 6:00pm but we might not make it there in time. How long does that launch last? If we are there by 7, will we be too late to see any of them still in the air?
Author
Hi Sue, It does not take them long to get airborne, so I would try and get there as soon as you can! If you miss the launch, they will be back for the glow later in the evening.
Hello! Like you said, with the pop up rain expected on Thursday, will it be muddy for Bret Michaels concert? Wasn’t sure if venue was pavement or grass and if we should be prepared to get wet if no coverage? Thanks!
Author
Hi Denise – we are on pavement for the concert, so it won’t get muddy in front of the stage. You may want to bring a chair and an umbrella just in case ๐
Is it better to buy the admission tickets earlier rather than at the gate for quicker admittance?
Author
Hi Amanda – yes, it will be quicker to get in if you buy your tickets in advance! You can buy thursday night tickets (including the Bret Michaels concert) at http://www.ticketfly.com and weekend passes including Friday and Saturday admission at http://www.eventbright.com. Also, please have correct change for parking $5 and with two entrances this year we will get people in and out much faster!
The event said tickets on sale online until Aug 10th. I tried to buy comcert tickets hours ago and it would not let me! I thought it was my phone. Why would they turn the online sales off before midnight? If I would have known I wouldn’t have waited and checked the weather. False advertisement if you ask me! Anything to get an extra $10 from people.
Author
Hi Megan – sorry for your frustration, but we did let people know that the online sales would be ending yesterday. Ticketfly is not run by the Marysville Journal Tribune, so we were not in control of what time they ended. But, it’s not too late to get tickets! You can still buy your tickets at the gate and we are hoping the weather holds out so everyone can have a great time this weekend. Be sure to bring your chair – and an umbrella just in case.
How do I purchase tickets online for Thursday?
Author
Hi Geoff – online sales for Thursday are closed! But, you can still get your tickets for tonight for $30 at the gate and you can still buy online tickets for Friday and Saturday at http://www.eventbright.com. See you there!!!
When you purchase a ticket for the balloon ride on the Rides tab via PayPal, how do you know when you’re scheduled ride will take place? I “accidentally” just purchased a ticket, because I thought I was going to see a schedule of times (days, at least!) that rides were still available–because I read in these comments that the rides have sold out quickly in the past before!!
*my PayPal email is different than the one I submitted on this form, if that matters?!
Author
Hi Nora – all of the balloon rides take place during the balloon launches at 6pm. You’ll want to get there early to be sure we get you on your balloon. Stop by the front gate by 5:00pm and we will get you taken care of!
I can’t seem to find tickets for tonight on eventbrite.com. Is it sold out tonight or can tickets still be purchased at the gate?
Author
Hi Kimberly – the tickets for tonight were being sold online at ticketfly.com until yesterday – but you can still buy tickets at the gate! Tickets are $30 – cash only. Please, also bring $5 for parking, a chair and an umbrella – just in case!!! The $10 weekend passes for Friday and Saturday are still available online at http://www.eventbrite.com.
What do you do in the event of rain? It looks like a high chance for rain on Saturday. Thank you!
Author
Hi Meg – the event will go on rain or shine! That said, the balloons are of course subject to weather-related delays occasionally, but that will be the call of the Balloonmeister and the safety officer. There are many things that will not be effected if it rains: Helicopter rides, concerts, great food, etc. – we do recommend you bring an umbrella just in case of showers.
will balloons be launching all day or just at 6:00
Author
The balloon launch is at 6:00pm – there may be balloons flying earlier, but the official launch with all the balloons is just once a day – don’t miss it!
Why was there no glow show tonight?
We drove out here and there was no balloons out.. Very disappointed and so if my 3 year old.
Author
Hi Rhandi – sorry for your disappointment, but the Balloonmeister and the Safety officer and the FAA all put the safety of the balloonists and the attendees first and there was too much lightning nearby and the winds were too high for the balloons to glow last night. Luckily, there are so many other things to do at the fest – the Bret Michaels concert was a big hit last night! We are crossing our fingers that the weather is great for flying and glowing tonight.
What are you guys going to do for the people that are in the balloon festival aready and want to see all jacked up but don’t buy tickets to see Cassidy pope. I’m not really interested in seeing Cassidy pope so how are you going to work it? Does the general public at the leave before she comes on?
Author
The Cassidee Pope concert is included with general admission, so it is up to you if you would like to leave before she starts playing.
Hello
To whom this may concern, this festival looks amazing, my question is what is included in the cost of admission?
Is there a extra charge for activities and balloon rides if so, can you please let me know?
Author
Hi Sonya – thank you for your inquiry! The admission includes your entry into the event grounds and all the sights within including musical performances, there will be different times when balloons inflate, take off and glow and there will be planes and helicopters taking off and aerial shows taking place above the event. Parking is $5, so carpooling will save you a bit of dough. You can buy food, drinks and merchandise from our vendors and you can get a tethered balloon ride for $20. Full rides in balloons and helicopters and such can be scheduled before you go – follow the links on our “rides” page. Kid City also has a $10 admission church for all-you-can-jump! If you have any other questions, please let us know and we hope to see you there!
Hello-I just purchased 2 VIP Meet and Greet tickets off Eventbrite. When will you know the row and seat number and how will information on the meet and greet be distributed?
Thank you!
Author
Hi Terry – Congrats on scoring those tickets before they sold out! There are no row or seat numbers, you bring your own chairs and set them up front in the designated area. Your meet and greet tickets will be available at Will Call when you arrive to the event – be sure to get there early to make sure your not stuck in line – we’d recommend at least 4:30, but the gates open at 2pm, so get there when you can. I hope this helps and that you have a great time at the fest this year!
I was wondering what time night ranger will play on the 11th? Thanks, Derrick
Author
Hi Derrick – looks like they will be going on at 8pm – the Dan Orr project is opening for them at 5:30pm. Hope we see you there!
Can I buy my tickets there or do I need to buy them prior to arriving?
Author
Hi Brett – tickets are available at the gate, but for Thursday evening it is less expensive to buy them in advance. Thursday evening tickets which include the Clint Black concert are available at ticketfly: http://www.ticketfly.com for $20 or $30 at the gate. The Friday and Saturday pass is available on eventbright: http://www.eventbright.com or at the gate for $10.
Will the balloons be lit up or taking off at all on Thursday night during Clint Black?
Author
All balloon activities are subject to change due to weather, but the plan is to have a launch and glow each night of the fest – including Thursday. Makes a really neat photo opportunity with the band playing and the balloons in the background ๐
I have heard traffic was an issue in prior years. How much time would you project driving would take from 161 & I270 area of Columbus, Ohio on Friday and Saturday? Is there a time of day when traffic is heaviest on Friday or Saturday?
Is the $10 Kidz City admission required for each parent and child? If an infant (less than 6 months) is present, must an additional admission be purchased?
Is blanket seating permitted (in lieu of chairs)? Is there a grassy area available for this if we are ok being away from the performance stage? Is there any shade or can guests put up a small shade or pup tent or umbrella for an infant to rest in/under?
I read that no coolers are permitted. Can we leave infant formula in a cooler in the car? Or can we carry an insulated lunch bag for infant formula?
Thanks! Hoping to make a family day of this event.
Author
Hi Peggy – thank you for your interest in our event, I will try and answer all of your questions here – please, let me know if I miss anything!
We did have some issues with slow, congested traffic in the past, but traffic was much smoother this past year with two entrances available! This year we will direct attendees to come in through the Weaver Road entrance for quick access to the parking area and much less possibility for congestion and we will bring vendors, volunteers, handicap parking and anything that will take a little longer to sort out through the Clymer Road entrance. We also encourage people to bring cash and exact change for parking to ensure a speedy entrance to the fest!
We estimate driving should take 30-40 minutes from 161/270 and traffic is likely to be the heaviest between 6-8pm.
$10 is the fee for Kidz City for all jumpers! Parents are not required to pay anything and neither would an infant in arms.
Blanket seating is permitted, but there are not grassy areas available. The stage is facing towards a paved area beyond which is a building. There is no shade available in the area for spectators and no tents or pop-ups are allowed, but you are welcome to bring umbrellas.
You can leave infant formula in a cooler in the car or carry it in, but be aware that bags will be checked and we do not permit outside food or beverages other than infant formula.
I hope that covers everything you need to know to have a fun family outing at our fest this year!!!
Are the grounds/vendors open during the day on Friday for those who may want to come early?
Author
Hi Deb – the gates will open at 2pm on Friday and Saturday along with all of the vendors, rides and Kidz City.
When are the balloon launches on Friday?
Are strollers permitted?
Author
Hi Wendy – the balloon launches are scheduled for 6pm each evening – weather permitting – but, the balloonists also have the option of doing a morning launch. The balloon glow is scheduled for 9pm each evening. Strollers are permitted.
Do all balloons launch at once or is there a specific launch schedule available for each day? Just want to make sure we are there in time to see our favorites fly!
Author
Hi Katie – the balloons are scheduled to launch at 6pm each day – weather permitting. Balloonists also may choose to do a morning launch and the balloon glow is at 9pm each evening.
Will there be Scheduled Morning Flights (weather permitting) or will it be at pilots’ discretion?
Author
Hi Scott – the scheduled flights are at 6pm each evening – weather permitting – but, the balloonists can also do a morning launch if they choose to.
So for Thursday you have to buy to tickets for the concert to get in? and is the $10 admission to the kids area in addition to entrance fees or is that the cost for kids to get in and use the kids area?
Author
Hi Kate – There is free admission for kids 12 and under on Friday and Saturday, but yes, if you’d like to bring them on Thursday, you would need to buy them a ticket. Kidz City will be available on Friday and Saturday and it is $10 for each jumper – all you can jump! We hope to see you there!
Is there a camera restriction (size/length of lens)? Can tripods &/or monopods be used?
Author
There is no restriction on cameras! We would love to see any shots you take – If you’d like to share, tag us at: #AllOhioBalloonFest2017
What is the admission price on Friday evening for the Festival and Night Ranger concert, please?
Author
Hi Chris – the Night Ranger is included with your $10 weekend pass for Friday and Saturday admission. It’s a great deal for a lot of fun and entertainment – we’ll see you there!
I am not interested in seeing the bands. Do we still need to pay those ticket prices just to watch the balloons launch?
Author
Hi Amy – thanks for your interest, Thursday night tickets are a little more expensive due to the national talent we have coming – Clint Black – however, the weekend admittance pass for Friday and Saturday is only $10 and it includes viewing the balloons and other aerial entertainment and all of the musical entertainment we have scheduled for those days!
I have tried to purchase tickets online for Thursday twice and it is not $20 it adds charity donations and services fees through this website you directed to, so it is over the $30 price you want at the gate. That does not make much sense to me so what am I missing?
Author
Hi Nan – the ticket price for Thursday with Clint Black does increase as we get closer to the event, it was $20 for advance tickets but it goes up to $30 this week. Plus, Ticketfly charges convenience fees for buying the tickets online. You are welcome to stop by the Marysville Journal-Tribune – 207 N. Main St. Marysville – or buy your tickets at the gate if you’d like to avoid those fees.
We have been to a festival before where the balloons didn’t fly due to wind factors. Do you have any idea about what MPH winds would cancel flights? Thank you.
Author
Hi Gloria – yes, hot air balloon festivals are extremely weather dependent and it’s very hard to predict if the scheduled launches and glows will have to be delayed or even cancelled sometimes. We never want to disappoint anyone, but the safety of our pilots, crews, passengers and attendees has to come first. Rain and wind speeds over 10 mph can endanger the lives of people involved in a hot air balloon flight. So, cross your fingers with us and hope for clear, calm skies this weekend!
Is there any seats provided for the bands? Or is it strictly bring your own chair?
Thanks
Author
Hi Cheryl – you should bring your own lawn chairs to sit and enjoy the concert and balloon glow.
What does the Kidz City Include? I didn’t see any description of it but it sounds like they include inflatables. Can you share more information?
Thanks!
-Bonnie
Author
Hi Bonnie – since we work with volunteers, it’s hard to say for sure what will be there at what time, but in the past we have had a balloon artist, face painting, costumed characters and more! We for sure have five jumpies including an obstacle course, slide and bounce house – it’s always a great time for kids who like to jump!
Someone has said that Weaver Road is going to be one way between Scottslawn and the entrance. Is that correct? I need to plan getting home from work, etc.
Author
Weaver road is two-way as far as we knowโฆ. people can come to the entrance from the North or the South along that road.
How many balloons go up during the fast-track launches versus the 6:00 launch? Also, can a sandwich and bottle of water be brought in if you don’t use a cooler? Haven’t been there before and all it says on the schedule is Fast Track launches with no description
Author
Hi Cathy – the fast traxx launches are sky divers – they do tandem jumps and jumps with the American flag and aerial tricks and stunts. We ask that you respect our food and drink vendors by not bringing in outside food and drink. We’re a non-profit event, but they rely on your business to keep coming back every year.
Cathy:
Leah & I are from Washington PA which is abt. 150 mi. E. from Columbus OH right on I-70. Where is the best place to park our car for he balloon festival? We DO have a “handicap sticker” in the vehicle.
Rod
Author
Hi Rod, There is handicap parking available. You can enter from the regular Weaver Road entrance and just let them know to direct you to our handicap parking area which is on blacktop near the entrance to the event.
2018:
1. IS THE VIP PARKING CLOSER THAN HANDICAP PARKING? I DO NOT NEED A WHEELCHAIR BUT HAVE DIFFICULTY WALKING LONG DISTANCE ESPECIALLY TRYING TO CARRY A CHAIR.
I CALLED EARLIER AND I WAS TOLD YOU COULD HAVE A GOLF CART PICK ME UP IN THE PARKING LOT AND TAKE ME AND MY CHAIR TO THE CONCERT VIEWING AREA? IS THIS CORRECT IF I PURCHASE A VIP TICKET WITHIN THE FIRST 2 ROWS?
Author
Hi Marilyn – the VIP and handicap parking are the same, both on blacktop and close to the entrance. We can have a golf card pick you up and take you and your chair to the concert viewing area. Enjoy the show!
wagons permitted?
Is there a meet/greet included in VIP tickets (rows 1-2) or has this information been changed?
Author
Wagons are permitted, just no coolers or outside food please. We need our guests to support the wonderful food vendors we bring in for this event. There are VIP tickets and there are VIP meet/greet tickets, which are much more limited. If you’d like the meet and greet, be sure to get your tickets soon!
I see from your website that you have a few souvenirs. Will you have shirts available online or should we wait till we get there? Will there be a ladies style shirt? This is our first balloon festival in Ohio. Very excited.
Author
Hi Melanie – we have put our t-shirts online in the past, but we are currently working on some new designs that will be for sale at the event, not sure when they will be available online. Happy that you are coming to our fest!
What is the cost for Thursday night August 9, 2018?
Author
Hi Kim – advance tickets for Thursday night are available on http://www.eventbrite.com, they are $30 for general admission, $100 for rows 3-20 and $200 for rows 1 and 2. Be sure to bring your own lawn chair to sit on.
Am I understanding correctly that if I can only go on Friday and NOT Friday AND Saturday, that my admission price will STILL be $10 just for the one nightโs admittance?
Author
Hi Madeline – the $10 weekend pass is good for both Friday and Saturday and it’s a great deal even if you can only make it for one day! We have a great line-up of music on Friday night – we hope to see you there!
Is there parking for any motorhomes?
Author
Hi Pete – there is parking during the event, but not overnight. There are campgrounds nearby including Raymond House that could accommodate you.
We I be able to leave the event to go back to my car and not pay a re-admittance fee? I know last year we had a lot of rain and the car was shelter.
Author
Hi Bill – yes, you get a wristband when you arrive so you can come and go as needed. Hopefully, we’re going to have fantastic weather this year and no duck and cover in your car ๐
Are there areas to tailgate? We are planning on bring our family at 5pm and staying for the evening glow. Can we leave the facility to prepare food? Are there in and out privileges? Thank you.
Author
Hi Cynthia, there is parking, but it is pretty crowded and it’s not on blacktop. We would recommend taking advantage of the wonderful food vendors we have available for you at the event. There is all kinds of different food – something for everyone. Visit our “Vendor” page for more information: http://www.allohioballoonfest.com/?page_id=12 Once you enter the event you will get a wristband which will allow you to come and go from the event as you need to.
Can we pull up to the entrance to buy tickets without parking, then come back later using the weaver road entrance?

You won’t be able to turn down Clymer Road without a vendor or volunteer pass, so you might as well buy the tickets at the gate when you arrive for the event. You can buy the tickets in advance on eventbrite.com or at the Marysville Journal-Tribune at 207 N. Main St. in Marysville.
Who are volunteer tethering teams? How do I join one?
Author
Hi Gayle – thank you for your interest. You can contact our Event Coordinator, Marie Woodford at: mariew@marysvillejt.com for more information about volunteer opportunities.
Can you purchase tickets the day of the event?
Author
Hi Candy – general admission tickets are available at the gate, but for Thursday night they are less expensive in advance. Thursday night tickets are $30 pre-sale and $40 at the gate and every person needs a ticket regardless of age. Friday and Saturday are $10 for general admission and kids 10 and under get in for free.
Your advertising says kids ages 10 and under are free on Friday and Saturday but then the Kid city bounce area shows a cost of $10. If we bring our three kids on Saturday, will it cost money for them to enjoy the kid activities?
Author
Kids 10 and under get free admission to come into the festival and see the music and the balloons. If you’d like them to go into the Kidz City, where the bounce houses are than there is a $10 charge per child.
Can u bring a cooler with water and food into the event?
Author
Coolers are not permitted on the Festival grounds, but we have a wide variety of food and beverage vendors for you to choose from so that you don’t have to lug a big cooler around.
Is tail gating allowed in the parking area?
Author
Sorry, Terry – it is not allowed. But, we have some great food vendors this year, come in to the event and let them provide the food! http://www.allohioballoonfest.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/Event-Menu.jpg
Is beer sold at this event?
Author
Yes, there is! We will have: Coors, Coors Lite, Miller, Miller Lite, Corona, Summer Shandy, Blue Moon and other various beverages.
How much is the beer?
Author
Not sure what our beer pricing is this year – it’s cash only and there are a variety of price points for different beverages.
Hi, I noticed no cooler allowed. But are back packs allowed. Would like to take supply of waters. Is that available?
Author
There are no outside food or beverages allowed into the event. We will have water and other beverages available for purchase at the event or you can visit your car as needed.
Do the $10 weekend general admission tickets also cover the Lo Cash concert on Friday night?
Author
Yes, the $10 weekend pass includes all of the music entertainment for Friday – including LOCASH – and Saturday.
hello,
Are we able to take a hot air balloon ride?? If so how much and how many people can go in one Balloon??
Author
Hi Michelle, the balloon rides are sold out. We may have tethered rides available for $20 at the event. The question about how many people can go up at once would be best answered by the pilot doing tethered rides at the event.
When are helicopter rides and is there a limit on how many people per ride?
How long is the ride?
Author
There is a weight limit – so, talk to the pilot at the event if you want people to ride together. The ride is about 10-15 minutes long.
Can we bring a camera on Thursday, 8/9/18?
Author
You are welcome to take pictures for personal use, but any professional photography needs to be cleared through our event coordinator.

Author
There isn’t a set height, but it is attached to a rope, so probably not more than about 30′.
Where can I buy advance admission tickets for just the Balloon Fest? Thanks.
Author
Balloon Fest tickets are available on Eventbrite.com and they include admission to the fest and all of the entertainment including concerts for that day. https://www.eventbrite.com/e/the-all-ohio-balloon-festival-aug-8th-38-special-aug-9th-aaron-lewis-aug-10th-bonjourney-tickets-50089028633?aff=ebdshpmoodssection
I was interested in a hot air balloon ride, but I wanted a specific day (Friday). It doesn’t have an option while entering payment info, so I didn’t want to buy and then be out of luck on the actual day. Is there a way to choose?
Author
I’m not sure if there are still rides available – they sell out really quickly. You can e-mail: aobf@marysvillejt.com to find out more.
Can you purchase beer at this event?
Author
Yes you can – be sure to bring your ID.
I’ve seen questions asking about outside food and drink and understand the need to support the vendors. I drink a lot of water to stay hydrated with the hot temperatures; is it okay to bring in one of the aluminum water bottles filled with ice water?
If we purchase VIP rows 3-20, how early can you get into the concert area to reserve your spot?
Thanks
Author
Hi Jason, we are allowing folks to bring in a small clear bottle of water. The preferred seating (rows 3-20) is a reserved area, but folks who get their earlier will be able to put their chairs in rows closer to the stage. It depends on how close you are hoping to be ๐
will tickets be sold at gate nightly
Author
Yes, tickets will be available at the gate all three days of the event.
I bought two too many tickets, do you offer refunds?
Author
Sorry, we are a non-profit event and we do not offer refunds. You could consider it a nice donation and give the tickets to some friends…
What is the admission price a the gate on Friday
Author

Are we able to tailgate hotdogs or eat family style in the parking area. We have a large group of kids.

Hi
We live in Illinois and typically go to the Eye in the sky festival in lisle which is a very large fest with a lot of balloons. It is canceled for the first time because of the virus. I see at this time you are still planning on having yours. when will add the details be on site for August fest? also, approximately how many balloons will confirm to be at your fest this summer?
thanks
Caryn Drovie
Author
Hi Caryn – we are a smaller fest. Most years we see around 20-30 balloons. We also have national music entertainment, helicopter and biplane rides and a few other fun things for folks to do at our fest. You can watch for balloons that sign up on our 2020 Balloonists page on this website, or like us on Facebook and join the event page to get up to date posts about what is being planned for this year. Hope you can come out and join in the fun!
Hello,
Is this Balloon Event still going on in August? Are masks required ? Will there be a limit and social distancing because of COVD-19?
Thanks,
Author
Hi Paula, our event has not been cancelled and we are currently working with the Union County Health Department on our action plan to make the event safe and fun for everyone. You can check back here or on our Facebook for updates. Once we come up with our plan we will be posting all of the specifics. We hope to see you there!
Did you cancel?

The 2020 All Ohio Balloon Fest has been rescheduled for next year, August 2021. https://www.facebook.com/179717412072685/photos/a.179723715405388/3380239142020480/?type=3&theater
Hello,
I was wondering if there are any new updates to the 2020 Balloon Event in August due to the latest news on COVID-19? I noticed the recent post at the beginning of July asked alot of good questions on safety and health aspects. Has an action plan been decided? Thanks so much.
Author
After months of scrambling to make adjustments, organizers of the All Ohio Balloon Fest have rescheduled this yearโs event to Aug. 12-14, 2021. Officials said they moved away from holding the event this year fearing the potential impact on the health of the community would outweigh its entertainment value.
Measures are now in place for patrons holding tickets to this yearโs event to seek refunds or replacement tickets for next year.
All those who have purchased advanced tickets for the 2020 event will be able to get a refund, though some protocols will need to be followed.
Because the Beach Boys generated a rush of walk-in ticket purchase at the Marysville Journal-Tribune office, officials fear that a similar rush for refunds would create social distancing problems at the newspaper office.
Those who purchased walk-in tickets with last names starting with the letters A-G will be allowed to come into the office from Aug. 31-Sept. 4. Last names beginning with letters H-O will be asked to come in Sept. 8-11 and letters P-Z can exchange tickets for next year or get their money back Sept. 14-18.
Office hours are 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Anyone not able to come to the office during their scheduled time can call the Journal-Tribune office, (937) 644-9111, to arrange an appointment.
Patrons will need to bring in their tickets or VIP/Preferred seating lanyards in order to exchange them or get their refund.
Anyone who purchased tickets online through Eventbrite will be able to get a refund through the site, but it will take 30 days to coordinate this process.
Organizers have already been working to schedule entertainment for 2021. Organizers worked doggedly to rebook the Beach Boys for next year, but agents for the group said they will not be available. Organizers continue to seek a replacement for the Thursday night entertainment next year.
Multi-platinum Nashville recording artist Mitchell Tenpenny is booked as the headliner for Friday, Aug. 13, 2021.
What this means for patrons who bought the discounted weekend passes for 2020 is that they will have the option to exchange their tickets for next year.
We ask all to stay tuned to the balloon festival Facebook page and http://www.allohioballoonfest.com for further announcements about next year.
Hi! Is this still going on this year? Ive never been and really hope I can this year! Please text call or email. 614 404 2925. psword@columbus.rr.com

How many people can ride in each balloon? I’d like to buy tickets bug may have a group of 5. Thanks!
Author
Hi Cassidy – it depends on the balloon, because there are different sized baskets. Most can only take one or two passengers, but some can take more. Please, send an e-mail to aobf@marysvillejt.com to inquire about availability this year.
When is the balloon launch? Is it every day of the event? And can you purchase tickets for a particular day to ride in the balloon? And which balloon is available to ride in?
Author
Hi Stacy, our balloon launches are scheduled for after 6pm every evening of the event – weather permitting. The rides and balloon assignments are handled by our general manager who you can e-mail at: aobf@marysvillejt.com. The number of rides available is very limited and always sells out before the event, so if you’d like a balloon ride, be sure to schedule early!
